Why should you join?
The department’s membership is comprised of regular members of the community just like you. Our membership includes both people who work as full-time emergency responders and individuals from other career paths. One thing that all our membership share is a passion for serving our community.
What to expect as a new member
All new members serve a six-month probationary period. During this time, you will be assigned a senior member of the department to act as your mentor. This mentor is available to you to help you complete your introductory training requirements and answer any questions that you may have. In addition to learning day to day operations of the department you will receive introductory firefighter to begin your journey to being certified as a firefighter in Tennessee.
What to expect after probation
Your journey as a firefighter does not stop once you complete your probationary firefighter phase. You will be expected to continue to learn and grow by attending a minimum of six hours of training monthly, attend a crew meeting once a month, and completing twelve hours of duty. You will be provided the opportunity to complete training with our in-house instructors, through the state fire academy, and with other outside organizations.
